About IFFAMPAC

IFFAMPAC is an international humanitarian non-governmental service organization working with family associations of missing persons to assist surviving family members in overcoming social, economic, legal and cultural obstacles resulting from armed conflict. IFFAMPAC is an advocate for family associations and a liaison between family associations.

What are IFFAMPAC’s goals?

  • To create greater public awareness of the hardships families face resulting from family members missing due to armed conflict.
  • To collaborate with other NGOs and government representatives to assist in reunification of families whenever feasible and/or to provide information as to the status of missing family members.
  • To coordinate with other organizations and agencies to identify and remove specific social, economic, legal, and cultural obstacles that prevent families from resuming their lives after an armed conflict.
  • To provide opportunities for family associations to gain experience from each other in meeting the needs of their members.
  • To assist family associations in developing programs that will address specific social, economic, legal and cultural needs of family associations and applying for funding for such programs.
  • To advocate on behalf of family associations to present their immediate concerns to the United Nations and work with United Nations agencies and Commissions to address those needs.

Who benefits from IFFAMPAC’s work?

IFFAMPAC's focus is the family. When armed conflict occurs women frequently become the head of their households overnight. Many are not able to provide sufficiently for their families because of numerous social, legal and cultural obstacles.  As a result, IFFAMPAC places particular emphasis on developing programs and projects to improve the quality of life for women and children.

In its work with family associations to make certain that collected data is clarified, accurately documented, and disseminated as public information, IFFAMPAC brings international attention to the violation of human rights suffered by all surviving family members of missing persons.

IFFAMPAC is a 501(c)(3) organization.
